Avicii by Avicii: Possible remix album of ‘True’ on the way.
Slyly taking to Instagram, Avicii manager Ash Pournouri has revealed artwork for what is expected to be the remix album of True. Labeled Avicii By Avicii the front cover (posted yesterday) is an introversion of the original album art while today’s submission is the back cover, revealing the potential tracklisting. What seems to be setting this remix album apart from others is that Tim is revisiting his own music.
Of course, this comes across obviously in the titling — Avicii (remixed) by Avicii. While staying tuned to Ash’s Instagram account has unveiled all of the information surrounding a possible remix album thus far, it’s expected that official news will surface sooner than later

Steve Aoki’s upcoming ‘Neon Future’ album to feature will.i.am, Snoop Dogg and Mac Miller
In a recent interview with ET, Steve Aoki spoke about his forthcoming album, Neon Future, which is expected to release on Ultra Music this summer. Fans can expect to see collaborations with the likes of will.i.am, Snoop Dogg, Machine Gun Kelly, Mac Miller, Waka Flocka, and Linkin Park — a strong effort on Aoki’s part to further blur the line between electronic and opposing genres such as rap and rock.
“Whenever I work with different artists I expand as a song writer, as a producer, and I always want to try and find that bridge between my world and their world. And that’s what we did with the Linkin Park collaboration, “A Light That Never Comes.” Find that place between the Linkin Park world and the EDM world,” the Dim Mak head honcho explains.
He continues on to pledge that Neon Future will continue to “break down genres.” Although a daring statement that creates tremendous expectations, Aoki has already given fans a preview of his vision for the future of dance music. Having recently completed his Aokify America Tour with Waka Flocka, Borgore and Pharrell Williams, it’s not too shocking that we will be seeing at least one of these names on Steve’s sophomore album.

Skrillex Sued for Stage Diving at Belasco Theater in L.A.
Skrillex is usually highly regarded for his killer stage presence and crowd-hyping antics, but this time his high-energy attitude has gotten him into some hot water. A fan, Jennifer Fraissl, has filed a lawsuit against the DJ for injuries arising from a stage dive. The alleged incident took place at The Belasco Theater in L.A. back in February 2012. Fraissl claims that Skrillex dove from the elevated DJ booth into the crowd and landed on top of her.
Because Skrillex was hyping up the crowd and teasing a stage dive, fans swarmed the stage, trapping Fraissl. The impact supposedly caused her several injuries including an eventual stroke. Names listed in the suit are Sonny Moore and The Belasco, who is responsible for not preventing the ‘reckless act’. Fraissl is seeking unspecified damages including loss of income and medical expenses. Celebrity gossip site TMZ has dug up what they believe to be a video of the incident, which you can check out for yourself right here: CLICK FOR TMZ VIDEO.

Flea Defends Red Hot Chili Peppers’ ‘Unplugged’ Super Bowl Performance
Dear everybody,
When we were asked by the NFL and Bruno to play our song Give It Away at the Super Bowl, it was made clear to us that the vocals would be live, but the bass, drums, and guitar would be pre-recorded. I understand the NFL’s stance on this, given they only have a few minutes to set up the stage, there a zillion things that could go wrong and ruin the sound for the folks watching in the stadium and the t.v. viewers. There was not any room for argument on this, the NFL does not want to risk their show being botched by bad sound, period.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers stance on any sort of miming has been that we will absolutely not do it. The last time we did it (or tried to) was in the late 80′s, we were thrown off of ‘The Top Of the Pops’ television program in the U.K. during rehearsals because we refused to mime properly, I played bass with my shoe, John played guitar atop Anthony’s shoulders, and we basically had a wrestling match onstage, making a mockery of the idea that it was a real live performance.
Ultra Music Festival Reveals Lineup By Day and Stage
Ultra is just on a rampage with blasting information at us. Yesterday we got the stellar and historic (Jack U!) phase two of the lineup and this morning we get the day, stage and set order. At a quick glance you see that ASOT650 will be on Sunday in the Carl Cox tent and that Tiesto, Avicii and Hardwell will be closing out each night at the main stage. Big boost from Hardwell’s dusk main stage set last night, sick.
Festivalgoers will be treated to a special “Underground Story” tent on Friday and Saturday with performers Jamie Jones and Solomun finishing off each day. The “Ultra Worldwide” stage will be home to the trap lovers who are looking for a healthy dosage of bass. Carnage, Borgore, Datsik and others will perform on Friday and Saturday we get Dillon, Floss and some RL Grime, among others.
Back to Vinyl – The Office Turntable
The good folk at OgilvyOne Frankfurt in Germany put this amazing marketing material for Kontor Records. We just had to share this because we can totally relate, so many demos come in to the office via mail/email that we don’t always listen to. This is a perfect example why being creative and being unique truly makes a difference.

Someone Spilled A Drink On Dillon Francis’ Computer!
We love Dillon Francis. He’s one of the nicest people in this industry, and seeing him legitimately upset isn’t a normal occurrence. But he certainly wasn’t happy on Holy Ship, after a female on stage apparently spilled an alcoholic beverage on his laptop. inthemix posted video of the aftermath where his computer was non-responsive, and his mini-temper tantrum after he realized that he was done playing for the night:
inthemix also let us know that the computer in question ended up being fine. I’m not sure why touring DJs don’t keep a flash drive handy to plug into CDJs in case their hardware fails, but what do I know? Flosstradamus actually keeps an extra computer next to the stage just in case, and Dillon might learn a thing from them. Maybe he can back his Serato crates up to one of his extra laptops so he doesn’t have to walk off stage next time?

Miami’s DJ Konflikt on Club Killers Radio
We kick off 2014 with a great open format mix from one of the 305’s most talked about DJs “Konflikt”. We expect him to really have a stand out year in 2014 as we predict the all big room EDM programming nights in nightclubs are coming to an end soon. The shift has certainly began in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, & Orange County. I’m sure it’s happening in your market right now.
Make sure you check out Konflikt next time you’re in Miami & follow up on his dates in Las Vegas as well. I believe he has a residency at Hyde inside the Bellagio & Tryst Nightclub inside the Wynn (I recently ran into him over at XS at the Encore.) Listen and download the mix, work it, live it, love it. This upcoming week we will be featuring DJ Ikon from Las Vegas. Look forward to mixes coming from DJ Loczi, JD Live, Eric Forbes, & DJ Deville.
